Your Electronic Driver's Education Completion Certificate

Here's What You Need to Know:

Automatic Upload to Student Portal

Upon completing all purchased lessons, classes, quizzes, and required signatures for classes, your electronic Driver Education Completion Certificate (e-DEC) will be uploaded to your student portal under the "FILES" tab within 5-7 business days. If you are testing with The Next Street, your e-DEC will be uploaded to your Student Portal 2 days before your test date. 

Note: In our commitment to sustainability, e-DEC certificates are not printed. DMV agents will review your digital certificate directly from your phone.


Missing e-DEC?

If your classroom time was completed over 7 days ago and your e-DEC is not visible in the "FILES" section of your Student Portal:

  • Double-check for any outstanding quizzes, signatures, driving lessons and classroom attendance.
  • Double-check to ensure we have your 9-digit permit number and issue date in your Student Portal.
  • If all above requirements are completed and your e-DEC is not in your Student Portal, please fill out the form below.

 

Need a Rushed or Partial Certificate?

Minimum Requirements for Rushed/Partial e-DEC:

  • All quizzes completed and class signatures submitted.
  • For partial or 8-hour course certificates:
    • Under 18: Must hold a permit for 180 days and complete the state-required 8-hour Safe Driving Course.
    • Over 18: Must hold a permit for 90 days and complete the 8-hour course.
  • For full course certificates:

    • Under 18: Must complete 30 hours of classroom instruction, 8 hours of driving lessons, and hold a permit for 120 days.

Note: Rush processing requests submitted without meeting the minimum requirements cannot be fulfilled. If we are able to issue your certificate, it will be available in your Student Portal within 2 business days. 


CS-1 to e-DEC Conversion Fee

  • Paper CS-1 Certificates are no longer accepted by the DMV. Instead, all completion certificates must now be in the form of an e-DEC.
  • If you had a CS-1 and now require an e-DEC, a $25 processing fee applies. Please call us at 860.631.4292 for this request.
